The Sunshine Coast Concert Band is a voluntary community band that has been performing since 1995 under the direction of Ken Chadwick. The band was previously known as the Caloundra City Concert Band, but changed its name to reflect the diversity of the members and charities assisted across the Sunshine Coast.

Members come from a vast range of professions. All band members participate purely for ‘the love of it’. The age of players ranges from 13 to 80 and approximately 85% of the original members still play in the band.

The music played by the band covers styles from the Glenn Miller era, Classical, Musicals, Rock and Roll, Sinatra, Jazz, and Pop. The band is the normal concert band format, including flutes, clarinets, saxophones, trumpets, trombones, french horn, tuba, bass, drums, and vocalists.

The band performs around once a month. Concerts and dances are held at various locations around the Coast, including the Kawana Community Hall and the Maroochydore Baptist Church. The entry cost to many of our performances goes towards various charities.

We rehearse at the Kawana Community Hall, Nanyima St, Buddina on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 pm.

This happy group of musicians is also encouraging wind instrumentalists of a reasonable (but not necessarily, outstanding) standard to join them.

If you are interested in joining the band, please contact the Director of Music
. Contact details are on the
